Looking forward to attending this years ICTC Conference in Melbourne. The years speakers list looks suitably impressive and the backdrop of Melbourne should give a fascinating twist to the Conference.
Delighted to have been invited by Open House Hobart to host an Urban Design Walk event under the Better Hobart Banner as part of this years series of Open House Events. It kicks off at 11.30 on Sunday 19th November. In it, I shall be leading a select group through the CBD of Hobart to provide a crash course in Urban Design and how to read the language of the City. I shall also be commenting on recent changes within the city and potential opportunities which exist for improving the livability of the City still further.
The event is Free, but limited in numbers and so booking is essential. You can go straight to the dedicated page by clicking here or to the main Open House Hobart web page to see what else is on offer in this years festival by clicking here.
Hosting another great talk at Better Hobart, this time we are joined by Hobart Alderman, Helen Burnet who will tell us about her voyage of discovery to places like Portland in the US to find out exactly how they have approached the subject of boosting bike riding in the city. She’s walked the walk (and caught the bus, the light rail, the bike, and the street car). The revolution, she believes, is coming and Helen will give a talk on what she discovered, and what it could mean for our city if applied here. Prepare to be enlightened and challenged.
It’s a special Better Hobart event and what better timing than Bicycle network’s national Ride2Work day, Wednesday, October 18.
